Herbert Gerald Nabors

Herbert Gerald Nabors, 90, formerly of Cowden, Oklahoma passed away on May 19th, 2020 at his home in Decatur, Texas. He was born on August 19th, 1929 to Herbert Murray and Mary (Morris) Nabors in Clinton, Oklahoma. Gerald grew up and attended school in Cowden, Oklahoma and graduated from Cowden High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves in 1951 and served six years in the Infantry Division. Gerald met the love of his life Ray Dell Brewer and they were united in marriage on December 7, 1952 in Dalhart, Texas. To this union was born two daughters, Linda and Kathy. He was a member of the Alfalfa United Methodist Church in Alfalfa, Oklahoma. When the family moved to Texas, he became a member of the Argyle United Methodist Church in Argyle, Texas and then a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur, Texas. Gerald was a farmer/rancher and also worked in earth construction. In his later years, he loved to sit outside and feed the chickens. He always made sure to buy extra bread for them. Gerald loved his family with all his heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his lovely wife Ray Dell.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
