Herbert Brown, 83, Hobart, OK, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Carnegie Hospital, Carnegie, OK. He was born, October 19, 1931, in Acoma Pueblo, NM to Herbert and Juana (Garcia) Brown, Sr.. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UCO in Edmond and served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Wynema Brace in May, 1957, in Albuquerque, NM. He was an educator for the Oklahoma Corrections Department beginning in 1978, first working in Lexington and then transferred to Granite in 1981, retiring in 1993. Herbert was a member of the Acoma Pueblo Tribe in New Mexico. He enjoyed doing silversmithing. Herbert Brown served as Sr. Deacon at First American Baptist Church, Adult Sunday School Teacher & Trustee with Minsters Father Joseph Nettem, Rev. Wilfred Brown & Duke Tsoodle

one brother, Angus Brown, Laguna Pueblo, NM.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Brown, Sr. and mother, Juana Garcia Brown Chavez,
two brothers, Earl and Matthew Brown and one sister, Rena Smith.
