Grant C.Finch, of Gracemont, was born January 7, 1946, to Grant and Verta Lee (Ames) Finch in Cogar. He passed from this life on his 67th birthday, January 2, 2013, at Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton.
Butch attended school at Fair Valley and Binger and graduated with the Class of 1964. He worked as a truck driver and in the oilfield for a while, farmed with his father until his death and remained a farmer and rancher in the Gracemont area. Butch and his wife, Opal Carol married in 1993.
Butch attended the First Methodist Church in Cogar. He liked to fish and visit with friends at the Cogar Store. Butch enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren and loved to cook and watch old westerns for hours.
Preceding him in death were his father, Grant Finch, his sister, Linda Finch and his brother, Jerry finch.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Carol of the home; his mother, Verta Lee Finch of Cogar; three children, Rodney Sims, Leslie Garrett, both of Gracemont and Marsha Todd and her husband, Kenneth of Guthrie; two grandchildren, Kenzi and Jack Todd both of Guthrie; two sisters, Coeann Patton and her husband, Charles of Tulsa and Patsy Clem of Oklahoma City; two nieces, Paula Hutchinson and her husband, Bill of Florida and Paige Zigler and her husband, Shane of Tulsa; three nephews, Patrick Patton, Cody Chapman, both of Tulsa and Jon Clem and his wife, Pam of Yukon; two brothers-in-law, Wayman Harrison and his wife Regena of Moore and Leon Harrison and his wife, Vesta of Oklahoma City; other Great nieces and nephews, relatives and many friends.
The Funeral service will be at 2 P.M., Friday, January 4, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Gracemont with Pastor Donnie Crittendon officiating. Burial will follow in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
