Glen Ray “Shorty†Blue, 71, of Anadarko, was born August 19, 1941 to Glen Ray and Mabel (Winn) Blue. He passed away January 22, 2013 at The Physicians Hospital in Anadarko.
Mr. Blue was raised in Anadarko and attended Anadarko Public Schools. He joined the Army in 1963 at the age of 16. He performed 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam and obtained the rank of Sergeant. After an honorable discharge from the army, he worked in several cafes and did other odd jobs.
He enjoyed having coffee at the bowling alley and talking about army life. He loved keeping his cars detailed spotless and his dog “Darkieâ€. He lived to take care of his wife and spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include; his parents and two brothers, Paul Blue and Johnny Blue.
Glen is survived by; his wife, Geraldine of Anadarko; two sons, Richard Starr and Michael Starr of Anadarko, three daughters; Kimberly Glover and Lola Harkness and husband Brad, all of Lawton and Trish Starr of Sapulpa; ten grandchildren, Nina, Reba, Mitchell, Michael, Dylan, Miranda, Dustin, Cecilia, Brandi and Michael, Jr., 12 great-grandchildren and one brother, George Blue and wife Gladys of Anadarko.
A Graveside service is scheduled for 11 AM, Monday, January 28, 2013 at The Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, with Dennis King, Chaplain, officiating. The service is under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
