Gerald Altenhofel

March 24, 1950 — October 28, 2022

Gerald Lynn Altenhofel, 72, of Cordell, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord on October 28, 2022, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Gerald was born to Bill and Teresa (Green) Altenhofel on March 24, 1950, in Elk City, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended the Canute Catholic school till it closed and graduated from Elk City High School in 1968. Gerald met the love of his life Lindsay Copeland and married her on November 1, 1975, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Together they had 6 Children: Nathan, Brian, Tesa and 3 angels in heaven. Gerald was the owner of Bathcrest of SW Okla., where he worked until his retirement. He met many people through his work and many friendships were formed through his years as the bathtub guy. Gerald and Lindsay were faithful members of the First Baptist Cordell and Gerald went on many mission trips across the US and Mexico with the Baptist Men and Church. He served in the sound booth for as long as he was able. He was an avid fisherman and had taken every opportunity given to him to go fishing. He had a story for just about every cast he had made. He looked forward to his yearly fishing trip with Brian and his countless trips with friends. He was immensely proud of all the accomplishments of all five of his kids. He enjoyed many things in his life but what brought him the most joy was being a grandpa. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
