George F. Wright

George Franklin Wright, 79, of Gracemont, was born January 24, 1933 in Hazen, Arkansas to William and Anabel (Price) Wright. He passed away Thursday, May 17,2012 in Anadarko.
Mr. Wright was raised on a cotton farm in Blytheville, Arkansas with 14 brothers and sisters. At the age of eighteen he joined the military and fought in the Korean war. In 1957 he married the former Jean Louise Ross and to this union 7 children were born.
George was employed as a farmhand, truck driver, cab driver and construction foreman. His hobbies included gourd dancing, gardening and woodworking. He was best known for raising produce, especially squash and watermelon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, daughters, Belle Marie,Cheryl Denise, and Shirlene, brothers, Larry, Bill, and Oscar, and sisters Alma Ruth and Francis.
Survivors include, four sons, Orren Wright of Anadarko, Donnie Harold Ross of Lookeba, George Wright,Jr.,of Anadarko, Christopher Wright of Norman, a daughter Connie Reyes of Anadarko, three sisters, Dorothy Tanner of St. Augustine, FL, Flo Back of Albany, GA and Willie Mae Richards of Sulphur, LA, and three brothers, Donnie Lee Wright of Lake Charles, LA, Roger Dale Wright and David Wright both of Livingston, Texas, and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Steverson Funeral Chapel in Anadarko with burial to follow in The Wichita Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home.
