George Washington Mcclure

George Washington McClure Jr., 95, of Anadarko, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on January 5, 2019. He was born on September 22, 1923 to Samuel J. and Mollie E. (Venable) McClure in Gracemont, Oklahoma. Jr. grew up and attended school in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School. Jr. proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He married Mary Lue Martin on February 22, 1945 in Anadarko, Oklahoma and to this union was born one son and two daughters. Jr. worked hard all his life as he farmed his land growing many crops. He had a Grade A Dairy along side his farming and raised many beef cattle. He also worked closely in the church, teaching the Men's Sunday School Classes and many other projects building this beautiful church. Jr. served on the Verden School Board for many years, but his # 3 love was his Allis Chalmers Tractors. He was a pro at any repair and loved restoring his old (Allis's). He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
