George Daingkau

April 18, 1947 — September 28, 2013

Reverend George E Daingkau was called home while in the service of the Lord, Saturday, September 28, 2013. He was born to Clyde, Sr. and Mildred (Mausape) Daingkau on April 18, 1947 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Rev. Daingkau was raised in Carnegie, Oklahoma at the Daingkau family homestead east of Carnegie. The fourth born and oldest son, he enjoyed his school years at Cedar Dale School, later playing football for the Carnegie Wildcat Varsity Team. After leaving home at the age of 16 to work on Ranch in Quinter, Kansas and he eventually earned his GED from Anadarko High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army; he was stationed at Fort Bliss (Tx) for Basic Training and then Fort Sill (Ok) for advanced Individual Training in field artillery. Promoted to Sergeant E-5 and assigned to the 1st Infantry Division - Dian South Viet Nam. While in Viet Nam he served with the 1st Battalion 5th Artillery and the 1st Infantry Division known as "Hamilton's Cannoneers". He was awarded 2 Army Commendation Medals - Merit Service while in Vietnam and Heroism with a V Cluster, in addition he also received a Good Conduct Medal. After a tour of duty assigned to the 6th Infantry Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky was separated from active duty to Army Reserves. Stateside and in the Army Reserves, he married LaDonna Kionut of Ft Cobb, Oklahoma and started a family to which 4 children were born. After serving in the reserves for 4 years, he was honorably discharged and began his automotive training at Fort Cobb Caddo-Kiowa Vo-Tech, later becoming the automotive instructor. He eventually received his Teaching Certificates from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Ok and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. Feeling the call to Christian service, he surrendered to the Ministry. He became an Ordained Southern Baptist Minister and remained faithful in service to the end. Over the years, he served in numerous diverse Church, Civic, Tribal, Federal and Philanthropic leadership roles across the US. Rev. Daingkau was a proud member of the Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society, serving as Chaplain; the Kiowa Gourd Clan; the Kiowa Tia-Pah Society; Recent Pastor of Faith Indian Baptist Church, Carnegie (Ok); associated with Kiowa Oho-mah Lodge Society through his grandfather, Na-hoy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his two oldest sisters, Claudetta Daingkau-Autaubo and M. Jane Daingkau-Tahpay and his little brothers Clyde Daingkau, Jr and infant boy Daingkau.

He is survived by his wife of the home;
his son Wilson Daingkau,
his son George Daingkau and his wife Lindsey,
his son Daniel Daingkau;
his daughter, Kimberly Daingkau-Begay and her husband Derwin;
his grandchildren, Sara Johanntoberns, James Johanntoberns, Bethany Daingkau and Hannah Daingkau;
his baby sister, Hazel Daingkau-Silverhorn and her husband Thomas;
his older sister, K. June Daingkau;
his little brother, Elliott Daingkau.
Numerous relatives from the Daingkau, Tanedooah, Mausape and Tanequoot families.

Wake Service: 7:00p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Botone Memorial United Methodist Church, Carnegie, OK
Funeral Service: 11:00a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at First Caddo Indian Baptist Church, Ft. Cobb OK
Burial will be at Tabbynanuca Cemetery
