Geneva Marie Kirtley

Geneva Marie Kirtley, 93, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was born on October 6, 1930, to William F. and Leota (Hicks) Blakley in Hydro, Oklahoma. Geneva grew up in Eakly, OK and attended school in Gracemont, graduating from Gracemont High School in 1949. She married the love of her life William (Dee) Kirtley on August 13, 1952. Geneva spent her working life, first as a military wife, and lived in France and Germany. She was a hairdresser in her early years and then served as secretary for the cafeterias in the Anadarko School System until retirement in 1990. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Anadarko, OK for 50 years. She loved the OKC Thunder and Oklahoma Sooners and never missed a game. She was always disappointed at the end of the seasons because she would have to wait so long to watch them again. She referred to the Thunder players by their first names and Russ and Steve were two of her favorites. Geneva also served as a pink lady at the Anadarko Hospital for several years. When she was no longer driving, she asked daily when she would get a car because she wanted to go to church, the store, and get her hair done. She loved her home in Anadarko where she lived for over 50 years and thought it was the most beautiful place on earth. There was no place she'd rather be ... until now as she walks on streets of gold. She loved the Lord and her Church family with all her heart and often asked nurses and aides who cared for her if they "know my Jesus?"


Geneva loved her family more than anything and her world revolved around them. Her first greeting was always if you wanted something to eat. Her last words were, "I love you."


Survivors include: sons Scott Kirtley of Chickasha and Brian Kirtley and wife Jenni' of Washington, OK; Daughter-in-law Linda Kirtley of Chickasha. Grandchildren Mandy Crom and husband Tom of Choctaw; Sean Kirtley and fiance Tabitha McGay, Samantha Malone and Mychale all of Chickasha; Lindsay Kirtley of Chickasha; Kaden and Taylor Kirtley, Case and Emily Kirtley all of Norman, and Conner Kirtley of Washington; grandchildren Shelley Smith and husband Jeff of Warren; great-grandchildren Colt and Brody Smith. Great grandchildren Hallie, Wyatt, Emma and Jenna Crom; Savannah Rivera, Zaylen, Mayken, Baylee and Chloe Benavides; and Kennedy Kirtley. Sister and best friend Wilda White of Anadarko; brother J.F. Blakley and wife Dori of Enumclaw, WA; sister-in-law Opal Carol Blakley of Gracemont; brother-in-law Harold and wife Bobbie Kirtley and sister-in-law Marie Bowers all of Paris, TX. Geneva had many nieces, nephews, and cousins she loved so much.

Preceded in death by her parents William and Leota Blakley; husband, William D. Kirtley; daughter Linda Glascock and husband Norman; son Mark Kirtley; daughter-in-law Cheryl Kirtley; grandson Brett Freeman; and brothers Willie Blakley and Edward Blakley.


Geneva will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
