Gary Harmon Prough

Gary Prough, 72, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away January 10, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on December 12, 1946 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Harmon Henry and Edith Pauline (Russell) Prough. He attended school in Gotebo, Oklahoma and graduated with the class of 1965. He continued his education by attending college in Okmolgee, where he graduated with a degree in Auto Parts. Gary married Darla Dunn in 1966. Together, Gary and Darla had two sons; Steven Craig and Michael Chris. Gary worked for DX Service Station in Cordell for several years. He later worked for Hoffman Oil in Clinton for several years before moving on to work for Tri-County Oil. He later went to work for Smith Oil driving a truck in the 70's. He worked for them for 33 years until he retired May 31, 2006. After retirement Gary helped with farming duties for Joe Maddox at MX Livestock. Gary married Lillian Smith on April 23, 1988 and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2006. Gary was a member of the New Beginnings Assembly of God where he was saved and baptized. He loved to farm and restore old tractors. Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Harmon & Edith (Russell) Prough, Wife: Lillian Prough and Step Granddaughter: Jennifer Tate
