Gary Nimsey, age 76, of Anadarko, OK, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025.
He was born on August 2, 1948, Lawton, OK, to James Nimsey, Jr. and Anna Sue Whitehorse Nimsey. He graduated with the class of 1967 from Anadarko High School where he played football and baseball. He was also the warrior mascot during football season. Gary attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He served in the U.S. Navy; Gary was a Jack-of-all-trades and the original Rolling stone. He was very passionate about everything he did. A member of O-Ho-Mah Lodge and Apache Black feet Society. As tor hobbies, he loved to draw, known as "Cookie Man" for the different kinds of cookies he made, served as arena director at many Pow Wows.
Gary is survived by six children: Mia Beaver, Kristen (KC) Nimsey, Earley Harjo, Sunshine Fixico, Brooke Nimsey, Silver Sky Herron, 14 grandchildren 5 great- grandchildren, one brother: Reed Nimsey, and One sister: Blair Doyeto.
Preceded in death by: Number 2 wife, Elaine Horse and Number 3 wife: Mona Doere, Son: Brooke Michael Daughter: Kacey Chaino Parents: James and Anna Sue Nimsey Paternal grandparents: James Nimsey, Sr. and Susie Redbone Tselee, Maternal grandparents: Charlie and Laura Pau-K'au-sah Whitehorse.
