Gary Don Mace

Gary Don Mace, 67, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on October 7, 1956, to Ruel and Delma (Liles) Mace in Hobart, Oklahoma. Gary grew up and attended school in Carnegie, graduating from Carnegie High School in 1974. While in high school Gary was active in FFA, and showed animals. He married Oweda Tully on August 13, 1976, to this union were born three children: Maranda, Lauran, and Blake.

After high school, Gary moved to Oklahoma City to work for his aunt and uncle at their tv/appliance store. Shortly after, he moved and opened his own tv/appliance repair store in Mountain View. During his working years Gary owned and operated his own rock hauling company, and was an agent and part owner of Watkins Insurance Agency in Hobart. His heart was always in farming and ranching. He farmed wheat, cotton, alfalfa, and grass hay on his farm south of Carnegie. Gary was a member of the Alden Volunteer Fire Department, President and member of Farmers Co-op Gin, NRA member, Carnegie round-up club, Class Parent in 2006, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie.

On August 8, 2020, he married Danielle Rosella Cody where they resided on the farm. Gary was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer in 2020. He fought and beat cancer in 2023, when he went into remission after a stem cell transplant in Little Rock, Arkansas. Gary loved to farm, he loved the land and all animals. He was so proud of his family. Gary enjoyed fishing, traveling, going to the lake, dancing, singing, and playing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mother: Delma Mace, Carnegie, OK
Brother: Dennis Mace & wife Patty, Carnegie, OK
Sister: Reta Skinner & husband Ronnie, Weatherford, OK
A host of many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
