Frieda Marie (Braun) Jones born Oct. 3, 1921 to Matt & Amelia Braun, in Hobart, OK. She grew up on a farm south of Hobart close to Babbs Switch where she later went to school. Her parents had a filling station / grocery store where she helped her sisters & mother make lunches for the harvest crews every year. Frieda went to high school in Hobart where in 1936 at age of 15 the young freshman caught the eye of a recent high school graduate, Herman Jones. Being four years younger didn't matter. At 17 yrs. old, Frieda & Herman were married in Mangum, OK on June 24, 1939. A union that lasted 65 yrs. 11 months, & 10 days.
While Frieda & Herman lived in Hobart their 1st son, Donald, was born. Herman & Frieda took a leap of faith in 1947 moving to Cordell & opening Jones Implement
Co. Soon after, their 2nd son, David, was born. Frieda worked several odd jobs to help make ends meet in the beginning such as pulling cotton & working at TG&Y. Later she worked at the store' (Jones Implement Co.) keeping books.
Frieda enjoyed being with family & working in her yard. She was the sole caregiver of Herman when his health started to decline.
After Herman's death Frieda's health started to decline forcing a move to the Cordell Christian Home where she spent her final years. Wanting to live to a 100 she came close having her 99th birthday 62 days before taking her long-awaited trip to be with Herman.
