Frieda Faye Jones

Frieda Faye Jones, 88, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 25th, 2019 at the Cordell Christian Home. She was born on April 28th, 1931 to Herbert & Ella (Emmerson) Merrill on a farm near Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. Frieda was the last of seven children, she grew up and attended school in Cowden and graduated from Cowden High School in 1949. During her school years she excelled in music. She met Bill Jones, her high school sweetheart, they married on August 7, 1949 at her parents home in Cowden, Oklahoma, to this union was born three sons, Ken, Nick and Steve and later gained three wonderful daughters -in- law, Suzie, Leah and Michele. Frieda and Bill farmed together her entire life, she also owned and operated her own beauty shop for over forty years. Frieda loved to travel and was Tour Guide for a Tour Company for seventeen years. Bill went with her on many of the trips, it all depended on how many days they would be gone. She also served on the Advisory Board at the Retirement Village in Cordell for many years. Frieda enjoyed listening to gospel music, singing in the choir, and singing duets with her brother. She loved her family, she loved to watch her grandkids and she also loved to crochet, cook and bake. Frieda Faye will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved, especially her family,
