Freddie Ray McCathern, Aged 80, of Gracemont, OK passed away on February 5, 2024, at his home. Born on June 4, 1943 to Fred and Gladys (Chrismon) McCathern in Spring Creek, OK. He graduated from Gracemont public School in 1961, then went on to attend SWOSU in Weatherford, OK and received his Bachelor's of Science degree from USAO in Chickasha, OK. On June 4, 1966 he married Patsy (Noland) McCathern and they were married for 57 years. Freddie lived a life marked by loyalty to his country and devotion to his faith. He served an esteemed 30-year tenure as an aircraft maintenance technician supervising th engine shop for the fleet of Locheed C-130. Hercules cargo planes, Freddie achieved the rank of Senior Master Sgt., exemplifying the virtues of duty and patriotism.
A steadfast worshiper at the Gracemont Church of Christ, Freddie practiced his beliefs with quiet dignity and heartfelt reverence. His spiritual life was an integral part of who he was, and it provided strength and comfort to him and those around him.
Strength and deep-rooted values will be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He enjoyed watching his favorite team, Texas Rangers, with the World Series! He loved off-roading in Colorado with his family and enjoyed Waylon Jennings music.
Freddie Ray McCathern's life was a testament to the enduring power of faith and the unyielding spirit of an American patriot. May he rest in peace, secure in the knowledge that his legacy endures.
He leaves behind his wife, Patsy McCathern, along with his children, Jeff McCathern & wife, Kristal, Ardmore, OK

Sister: Violet Repp, Lawton, OK
Freddie's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Madison Hoodgerhyde, Preston McCathern, Brinley Abbott, and Knox Abbott, as well as his numerous great grandchildren.
Freddie's life was one of service-service to his country, service to his Lord, and service to his family. His quiet strength and deep-rooted values will be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
