Frank Schornick, 93, of Cyril, was born March 12, 1921, in Konawa, Oklahoma to Walter James and Ola Mae (Hill) Schornick. He passed from this life on Friday, May 30, 2014, at his home in Cyril, Oklahoma.
Frank grew-up wanting to be a farmer and in the early days he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and later worked construction in Oklahoma City. Frank always liked to point out he helped build the First National Building in downtown Oklahoma City. After years of saving, Frank was finally able to buy his own farm. Achieving his dream to be a farmer and raise his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Cherry (Emberlin) Schornick; one daughter, Neta Williams; one grandson, Donald Schornick; step brothers and sister, Roy, Paul and Ida Mae (Toots) McMahan.
Survivors include Frank's sister, Mildred Weber of Anadarko; one step-sister, Ethel (McMahan) Pugh of Oklahoma City; two sons, James Schornick and his wife, Jean of Mustang, Oklahoma and Donald Schornick and his wife, Connie of Newcastle, Oklahoma; their mother Inabelle (Schornick) Horn; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday and from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. on Monday.
The funeral service for Mr. Schornick will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Verden First Baptist Church. The burial will follow at 3 P.M. at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery on E. Indian Hills Road, north of Norman, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be left for the family at
