Frances Eileen Ray Red Elk, 75, of Anadarko, OK, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at their home. She was born October 17, 1940 in Pawnee, OK, to Juanita and W.S. Ray from Okemah, OK. She married Ronald Red Elk on October 31, 1961.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Red Elk of Anadarko and her four daughters, Rhonda Freie of Anadarko, Lisa Moser of Anadarko and Kayleen and Eddie Tecumseh of Grandview, MO, tuetsi the Chihuahua; seven grandchildren, Steven and wife Emily Freie, Staci Freie, Shelby Red Elk and wife Valland Sage, Kellie and Brendan Moser, and Kayla and Kayce Tecumseh; twelve great grandchildren; one sister Billie Pilgram of Beardan, OK and many nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Juanita Rachel Dunson Ray and William Shelby Ray and her son Michael Ray Red Elk.
Frances was a long time resident of Anadarko, OK. She worked for the Anadarko Public Schools in which she retired from in 2001.
She competed in bowling events for many years and was an active golfer. She loved to spend time working in her flower beds and feeding her birds. Her greatest joy came from following her grandchildren to all their sporting events. It also brought her great happiness to watch and listen to her great grandchildren play and tell their stories.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Anadarko, OK. Interment will follow in the Walters Cemetery, Walters, OK, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Anadarko Public Schools Foundation.
A meal will be served after the burial service at the Comanche Nation Community Center in Walters, OK.
