Floyd was born on December 11, 1933, on the family farm east of Dill City, OK and left this life on June 10, 2023 at age 89 years, 5 months and 10 days.
Floyd graduated from Dill City High School and attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, OK. Floyd married Joan Caldwell on January 7, 1952. To this marriage they had two sons, Steve and Mark.
Floyd was a member of the Northside Church of Christ, was the Past Worshipful Master of the Cordell Masonic Lodge #127 and was a Certificate Lecturer. Floyd performed many funeral services for fellow Masons. He was also a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite Masons. While a candidate for York Rite, Floyd had the pleasure of meeting Gene Autry and had fond memories of having to help him pull his boots off.
Floyd had an upholstery shop in Cordell from the Mme he was 21 years of age up until he sold it. He patented a luggage product called Boot Boy and manufactured them for several years before selling the company.
Floyd served his city for 30 years, including Mayor of Cordell for two terms, and helped bring businesses and financial gain to the city.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents and he was the last of his seven siblings. Floyd is survived by sons Steve and wife Lorrie of Decatur, TX and Mark and wife Melissa of Bixby, OK. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
We will deeply miss you as our Dad and friend.

Floyd's final resting place will be at Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, Oklahoma with a graveside service on June 13, 2023.
