Evelyn Loriane (Pendleton) Swanda
Celebration of life for Evelyn Swanda, 74, will be held Thursday, March 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery
Evelyn began her heavenly journey on Monday, March 11 with loved ones by her side.
She was born on July 30, 1944 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Alma Jewell (Wilson) and Lewis Pendleton. She graduated from Mountain View Schools in 1962. On February 16, 1963 she married Paul Swanda in Carnegie where they farmed until Paul passed away in 1993, where she continued to live until her passing. She was an active member of the St. Richard's Catholic Church, Cub and Girl Scout leader, band mother, and was named " Class Ma" by Carnegie Senior Class of 83. She became a CMS working in the home health field for years and also worked as a dental assistant.
Evelyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, cooking, crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was her family and friends.
Survivors include Paula Barnaby, daughter and husband of Michigan; son Christopher of Altus; one brother William(Bill) Pendleton of Kentucky, two grandsons, Kyle Turney of Anadarko, Zackary and Leslie Turney of Rush Springs, four great grandchildren, Haygen, Brielle, Grayson, and Kasen, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, two brothers and one great grandchild.
