Evelyn Mary (Braun) Davis, 93, of Hobart, Oklahoma passed away on October 31, 2016. she was born to Joseph braun and Mary (Resender) Braun on September 25th, 1923 in Hobart, OK. she was raised on a farm in Roosevelt and moved to Hobart as a junior in high school. She graduated from Hobart High and attended Jr. College in Hobart where she excelled in tennis. She married Dayrold Eugene Davis, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, on August 20, 1942 in National City, California. She worked in the Rochester parachute factory in California, and then moved back to Hobart when her husband entered the service. She began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1944 as an operator. She later became the chief operator's clerk, then the chief operator, and finally spent 10 years as a service representative. She retired when the office closed in 1982. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years and 7 months. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, AARP, and the Rainy Mountain Extension Club. She enjoyed square dancing and spending time with friends.
She is survived by her children;
Sharon and her husband, Leo Fegal of Leedey, OK,
Leonard and his wife Sue of Saltillo, TX,
and Greg Davis of Cordell, OK,
her grandchildren; Justin Fegel, Jennifer Dickey, Jason Davis, Jennifer Sharon, and Bradley Davis; her great-grandchildren; JD Dickey, Ciera (Fegel) Whitmore, Ashton Dickey, Corie Fegel, Caden Fegel, Cruise Sharon, Quinn Dickey, Ansley Davis, Ava Sharon, Haley Davis, and Owen Davis; and great-great grandson Leo James Whitmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Braun,
husband Dayrold Davis, brother Albert Joseph (AJ) Braun,
and great granddaughter Karli Fegel.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.
