Evalyn Verna Zacharias

November 8, 1922 — January 2, 2019

Evalyn Verna (Brandt) Zacharias was born November 8, 1922 on a farm in Gotebo, OK to John and Martha (Goertz) Brandt. She was the fourth child of seven born to her parents. She moved to Arizona with her family in 1939. Her husband-to-be, Aaron Zacharias, drove there to marry her on April 6, 1941. She lived there during most of World War II while Aaron served in the Army in Europe. Upon his return, they returned to Gotebo and farmed south of town. They moved their home into town in 1957. Two children were born to them. A son, Dennis Aaron and a daughter, Deena Lynne. She continued to live in Gotebo following Aaron's death until keeping up the home became too difficult for her. She then moved to a senior living complex in Yukon when she made many new friends.
Evalyn is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Herbert and Wilbert, sisters Myrtle and Opal.
She is survived by her son Dennis (Pat) of Yukon, OK; daughter Deena (Doug) of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughter Aimee' Lewis of Yukon, OK; great grandchildren Abigail and Landry Lewis of Yukon, OK; sister Lillie (Kenneth) Norton of Miami, AZ and brother Robert of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law Gladys Zacharias of Gotebo, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the employees of Integris Canadian Valley Hospital, Ranchwood Nursing Center, and Good Shepard Hospice for the loving care they gave her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
