Eugene was born March 24, 1926 in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains. He was brought into this world on the Zimmerman homestead by his proud parents Clarence and Lora Zimmerman. Eugene attended Pecan School and later Sedan. He served in the US Army. At the end of WWII, he returned home to start his farming and ranching career. He married the love of his life Dorothy Swanda on Oct. 2, 1947 . They had three daughters Debra Repp, Marsha Duncan and Cathy Kuykendall. He loved his cattle and also raised wheat and cotton which was still a big part of his life when he became ill. He served on many boards: the Farmers CO-OP Mill and Elevator, the Farmers Cotton Gin, and the Cotton Growers Association in Altus. He was round-up president for many years, he served as the SW Co-chairman in the SW District Stock show, and also an honorary FFA Member. After moving to Carnegie he was baptized in the First Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
