Esther Ellen Cook Caldwell, age 91, of Cordell passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 2, 2024. She was born January 23, 1933 to Vernon and Addie Holt Cook at Cordell, Oklahoma. Esther married Ronald Caldwell September 22, 1954 in Port Orchard, Washington. To this union (4) daughters were born, Rebecca Louise, Verna Beth, Sandra Kay and Michelle.
While Ronald was in the Air Force, Esther and Ronald spent several years in France. After Ronald retired from the armed service, Esther lived in Salinas, CA and worked for JL Sloan as an accountant for many years. Later Esther owned Cloud Chief Creations in Ruidoso, New Mexico where she made and sold her own jewelry and crafts. After retiring she returned to Cordell to be closer to the farm.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Louise Masi of Reno, Nevada and Verna Beth Azlin of Windsor, California, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephew Rick Cook, and nieces, Jana Webb and Jeannie Haskett all of Cordell and niece Joy Chaney of Weatherford, OK. Also, special great niece and nephews Christopher Larsen, Rachel Neeley and Nathan Cook Larsen and their children which Esther greatly enjoyed spending time with after she moved back to Cordell.
Esther was proceeded in death by her parents, Vernon and Addie Cook, brothers, Vernon Kent Cook, Eldon Cook and Jackie Cook, daughters Sandra Caldwell and Michelle Caldwell and sisters in law Byrdena Cook and Joyce Cook.
A private burial will be held at the Cloud Chief Cemetery.
