Estelle Mildred Fox, former Mountain View resident, went to be with the Lord on the 7th day of February, 2012 at 2:59 p.m. at the age of 96. She was born December 10, 1915 at Newark, Texas near Ft. Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Fox and sister Margarett Sue Morris.
Estelle is survived by a son Richard Fox and wife Audrey of Katy, Texas; grandchildren Andy Fox and wife Colleen of Richmond, Texas and Melissa Fox and Josh Haney of Rosenberg, Texas; great grandchildren Jackson Fox and Mia Haney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Estelle and her parents moved from Azle, Texas in 1929 to a farm near Loveland, Oklahoma. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1934 and graduated in 1940 from Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. Estelle did graduate work at West Texas University in Canyon, Texas and the University of Oklahoma. Estelle married Jesse Fox in 1950. After marriage she and Jesse lived in the Sedan Community before moving to Muleshoe, Texas in 1953. Estelle was a lifelong educator, teaching for more than 42 years in Oklahoma and Texas. After retiring from teaching, she and Jesse returned to Mountain View, Oklahoma. When she felt she was no longer able to live by herself, Estelle moved to Katy, Texas in 2010 to be close to her son and family.
Estelle was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. View, Oklahoma. She was a very active person participating in church work, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, Texas State Teachers Association, Twentieth Century Club, The White Coats of Mt. View and Mt. View Senior Citizens. Estelle's interests included gardening, reading, traveling and sports. She supported the Mt. View Tigers, the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys.
Memorials may be made to Mountain View United Methodist Church of Mt. View, Oklahoma.
