Elton Roy Jones, 58 of Anadarko, Oklahoma, was born March 29, 1961 in Clinton to Frank Roger Jones Sr. and Juanita Marie Lorentz. He passed away May 15, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Elton attended schools in Shawnee and Anadarko, where he finished at Riverside Indian School.
Elton's first trade path was roofing, where he traveled from Louisiana to Denver on various roofing projects. Elton was a mechanic by trade, where he enjoyed assisting others with their vehicle needs.
Elton loved to fish with his family and friends, as he had many "secret fishing holes", although he would not tell you where they were located to keep the waters stocked. Elton was passionate about his belief of "Bigfoot" and shared many stories and encounters with the mysterious creature. Elton enjoyed hiking and hunting as he adored nature. Elton loved to ride motorcycles and enjoyed working on them. Elton was a collector of nostalgic memorabilia as well as Native American related relics. Elton was a very kind hearted, giving, and loving soul. Elton would always have something to share with loved ones and he gave in such a loving fashion, as if he was giving away items to royalty, it sure made his gifts significant. Elton loved to cook for his family. His grandbabies loved "Grandpa's potatoes". Elton would never serve instant potatoes, they had to be "real". Elton was very proud of his native heritage, as he was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe, and a descendant of the Cheyenne, Cherokee, and Sioux tribes. Elton was a natural warrior as he was a descendant of the Tonkeahbo Kiowa family, Red Tipi Kiowa family, Satank Chief of the Kiowa Tribe, as well as "Kills Fire" of the Sand Creek Massacre of the Cheyenne Tribe. Elton's Cherokee heritage stemmed directly from the "Trail of Tears" via his Great Grandmother Fannie Mocker's foot path to Oklahoma Territory.
