Elmer Francis Cody

February 12, 1944 — September 20, 2020

On September 20, 2020 Elmer Francis Cody, 76, earned his wings and went home to our Creator in Midwest City, OK. He was born February 12,1944 in Lawton, OK to Spencer Lee Cody, Sr. and Freda Mae Kotay.
Elmer grew up in the Apache area and established his home there. He grew up in church with his uncles Larry and Ralph Kotay and sang Kiowa Church songs.
He graduated from Broxton High School, then attended Cameron University and further his education to received a Master's degree. He worked in accounting for the BIA. He also worked at Riverside Indian School as home living staff and poured his kindness into many youth. He retired from Riverside Indian School and in his later years worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter with his infectious smile. Elmer was a member of the Kiowa Tribe. Elmer was also a faithful member of Indian Capital Baptist Church. He devoted his time to his faith and family. Elmer loved playing dominoes. The one thing Elmer loved most was spending time with his granddaughter Alexis. Elmer had a dry sense of humor that was quite contagious. Elmer's compassion and kind heart in life will be well remembered.

Brother-in-law: Manual G. Nagar Jr., Plainview, TX
Preceded in death were his parents Spencer L. Cody Sr. and Freda Mae Kotay; sisters: Betty Jean Nagar (Kauliaty), Pearl C. Cody; Tommie L. Cody. Three Aunts and Four Uncles.
