Elizabeth Stuteville

October 9, 1921 — June 25, 2012

Elizabeth Adair Heusel Stuteville, 90, was born October 9. 1921, to Albert F. Heusel and Helen A. Staggers Heusel at her grandparents home near Salt Fork, Oklahoma. She passed away in Carnegie on June 25, 2012. Elizabeth, one of eight children, was the daughter of a Methodist minister; and they moved many times during her childhood while her father served various churches. She graduated from high school at Loyal Oklahoma and attended college at Central State at Edmond for 2 years. She then taught at a one room school located near Hinton and taught all eight grades for one year. She later received a life certificate to teach commercial subjects and finished her B.S. degree from Southwestern State College.
In 1944 Ellizabeth married Howard Stuteville, and they made their home 5 miles north of Alfalfa where she resided until her death. Their son, Jimmie Thad Stuteville, was born in 1947. Howard passed away in 1958. Elizabeth, known as Beth, taught in various schools and touched many students lives during her 41 years as a teacher. Some of her schools included Hinton, Eakly, Alfalfa, Fort Cobb, and Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, where she retired in 1984. In addition to being an educator, Beth was very involved in her church work. She was an active member of the Alfalfa United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years up until a few weeks before her death. She had sponsored youth groups, sang in the choir and served at the church secretary. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Beth traveled extensively and had many stories to share about Europe, Hawaii, and other places, as well as senior trips she helped sponsor.
Beth's greatest joy was her son and grandchildren. She attended their activities and spent many hours with them until her health limited her.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, her grandson Jeffrey Thad Stuteville; and her brothers Clinton, Cleo and Keith Heusel.
