Elizabeth Alice Farris

Elizabeth "Beth" Farris, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was born on February 9, 1923, in Portsmouth, VA to Dinzle S. and Martha S (Drewry) Walton. Elizabeth graduated from Woodrow Wilson High in 1941. She married John Farris on August 30, 1941, in Portsmouth, VA. The couple moved to the Roosevelt area in 1943, where they were involved in farming and custom harvesting. Elizabeth was an active member of the Church of Christ in Roosevelt teaching Bible Study for many years, as well as the Quest and Garden Club.

She was a warm, spirited woman who loved her family, friends, pets, OU football and Thunder Basketball.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Hughes and husband Homer, Shreveport, LA
Debbie Bryant and husband Darren, Elgin, IL
four grandchildren, Tanja Kennedy and husband George, Limerick, ME
John Hughes, Shreveport, LA
Chris Martin and wife Jillian, Gotebo, OK
Courtney Robbins and husband Chris, Hobart, oK
11 great-grandchildren
1 great-great grandchild
one sister, Irene D. Asta, Highland Heights, OH
one sister and brother in law, Kathryn and Dale Shoop
one sister in law, Gloria W. Carter

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, two brothers James and Fred Walton,
several nieces and nephews, also beloved grandmother Drewry.


Funeral Services: 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015
Church of Christ, Roosevelt, OK
Officiating: Bill Coffin
Burial will follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
