Elaine Tapedo was born on July 14, 1954 to Wesley Tapedo and Oma (Tofpi) Tapedo in Lawton, OK. She was the youngest of eight children. She passed away on July 1, 2021, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in OKC, OK.
She attended and graduated from Riverside Indian School. She was also a member of the Kiowa War Mothers. She made her home in Carnegie, OK and worked for the Kiowa Tribe for many years. She loved spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Quoetone of the home; 2 sons, Carl Lujan and wife, Carol of Collinsville, OK, Joseph Lujan of Seattle, WA; daughter, Shelly Quoetone of Carnegie, OK; sister, Carol Flores of Cache, OK; brother, Harold Tapedo of Lawton, OK; fifteen grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Wesley Tapedo; mother, Oma (Tofpi) Tapedo; brothers, Gerald Tapedo, James Tapedo, Luther Tapedo and Lester Tapedo; sister, June Sutterlee.
