Schantz, Iris Elaine Hulse was born March 2, 1932 to James and Enid
Williams Hulse in Walters, Oklahoma. She passed away at home
surrounded by her loving family on March 3, 2012, one day after her
80th birthday.
Elaine attended Oklahoma University in Norman before marrying Leland
H. Schantz on March 6, 1953. She graduated from the University of
Colorado in Boulder with a bachelors degree in 1974. She later earned
a master?s degree in history from the University of Colorado at
Colorado Springs.
She grew up in Oklahoma but moved to Colorado in 1957. She lived in
Colorado Springs until 2001 when she moved to Chesterfield, Missouri
with her daughter Andrea?s family.
Mrs. Schantz is survived by one brother, Edgar C. (Judy) Hulse;
sister-in-law Mary Jo Hulse; her daughters, Shirlee ?Lee? (Steve)
Schuh; Enid (Mark) Hagelberg; Dr. Andrea (Dr. William) Wilcox; Heather
(Scott) Delpy; and honorary daughter, Anna (Mike) Worley. She had nine
grandchildren, Daniel and Renee Hagelberg; Rebecca, Timothy, Joseph
and Hannah Wilcox; Caleb Delpy; Andrew Worley and Shannon Worley
Klasen. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee in 1991; her
parents; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home Chapel , 306 W. 11th Street, Hobart, OK, Wednesday, March 7th.
Interment will follow immediately at Salem Cemetery.
