Edward Joseph Dunbar Sr., 94, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed away August 13, 2019. He was born in East Boston, Massachusetts, on February 14, 1925 to Myron Edward and Thelma (Bushie) Dunbar. Edward married Doris Lillian Amerault on July 13, 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts, and they were married for 67 years. They left Boston in 1964. He took part in World War II during his time in the military, and played a part in the battle of Po Valley in Italy. Edward retired from the military after 30 years of service and went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 2 years before retiring in 1987. He and Doris sold their house and traveled across the country for several years. The finally settled in Oklahoma in the late 80's. Edward was a man that had many great achievements in his lifetime. He was the youngest 1st mate at 16 years old. He was one of the designer engineers of the first Linetype (Teletype), which is currently on display at the Smithsonian. He was the designer of the emergency pilot locator beacon which are still used to this day. He was fond of bingo and the casino. It always seemed as if he was always on Route 66 somewhere.
Edward is survived by his wife Doris Dunbar of the home,

8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren,
and 1 sister Pauline Gioioso of Massachusetts,
He is preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, and many other relatives.
