Edward Davis

June 13, 1930 — November 7, 2014

Edward Davis, 84, of Carnegie, OK passed away Friday, November 7th, 2014 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, OK. He was known as big papa; the king of the nursing home. He was born to Claude and Laura (Cook) Davis, June 13th, 1930 in Paris TX. Ed grew up in the Cowden and Mountain View area. He graduated form Cowden High School in 1951, and from there he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1955. Ed went to work for the Carnegie Ice Plant and later worked at the Chevrolet Dealership, the Massey Ferguson Dealership, Gibson Implement and Farmers Co-Op. He also worked at the Carnegie Public School as a bus driver and custodian, and also some at the Farmers Co-Op Gin. Ed could just about fix anything, and was a very good mechanic. He loved to plant a large garden and share it with his family and friends. He also loved to play baseball, and that's where he met Ninalea McDaniel. They were united in marriage June 25, 1960 in Blanchard, OK. From this union was born four children, Jimmy Lee ( Rusty) Davis, Debralea Dawn Davis, Johnny Durrell Davis and Darolyn DaNae Davis. They also adopted Rozaria Marie High Davis and Victor Noel Ybarra Davis.

two granddaughters, Jade Ware and Camdyn Davis
three grandsons, John Sanders Jr., Caedon Cole Davis and Bradyn Melton
one sister, Barbara Pinkston, Nevada
two brothers, James (Red) Davis and wife, Helen, Carnegie, OK
Richard (Dick) Davis and wife, Flo, Broxton, OK
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, brother, J.C. Davis, two sisters, Josie McLemore and Patsy Ladd, three nephews, Micheal Burt, Keith Davis and Beaver Ladd.
