Edward Joseph Blakley
Edward Joseph Blakley passed away on November 11, 2017 at age 79 in Anadarko, OK. He was born on June 1, 1938 in Alfalfa, OK, graduated from Gracemont High School in 1956, then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the 132nd Airborne Special Forces. After leaving the Army and attending college at Cameron, he started a successful swimming pool construction business in Lawton, OK, where he set the standard for excellence in the industry for more than 50 years. He retired to Anadarko where he lived with his wife, Opal Carol, until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Carol, and his children Joseph Brett Blakley of Guthrie, Michael Sean Blakley (Joy) of Houston, TX, Jami Kai Huck (Rodney) of Elgin, Suzanne Littrell of Denver, CO, Rodney Sims of Gracemont, Marsha Todd (Kenneth) of Guthrie, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Geneva Kirtley and Wilda White, both of Anadarko, and brother Jay F. Blakley (Dori) of Enumclaw, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents William Franklin Blakley and Leota (Hicks) Blakley, his brother William Blakley and a son, Jeffery Kent Blakley.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church 302 N. Main, Gracemont, Thursday, November 16th at 10:00 am.
