Edna Joann Elrod

Edna Joann Elrod, 83 of Anadarko, OK passed from this life on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Joann was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma on March 23rd, 1934 to Miller and Edna (Adams) Allen. She graduated from Anadarko High School in 1952 and was the Salutatorian of her class. She married Marvin Elrod on December 14, 1953, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where they raised two sons. Joann and Marvin loved to square dance and she was an avid reader. After Marvin's death she worked as the secretary at Sunset Elementary for several years. She was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Joann is survived by her sons, Robert Elrod and his wife Janet and their children Hannah Elrod and Katelyn Elrod, all of Norman, OK; Keith Elrod and his wife Kathryn and their children, Lauren Elrod of Anadarko, OK, and Eric Elrod of Stillwater, OK; A niece, Sharon Bookout, and great niece, Robbyn Morris, and her son Alex, all of Chickasha, OK; and many other family and friends that will miss her.

Joann is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Marvin Axton.



There will be a family visitation on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
