Edna Alice Bointy

Edna Alice Bointy, 78, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was born on October 22, 1946, to William and Sallie (Hokeah) Bointy, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a full-blooded member of the Kiowa Tribe. She attended Carnegie Public Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1964. She was faithful to her colors and always took great pride in being a Wildcat. Upon graduation, she attended Haskell Indian Junior College where she received her associate's degree in business administration. Edna moved to Washington D.C. and began her long career with the federal government. Throughout the years, her job would take her to Denver, San Francisco, Dallas and then to Oklahoma City, where she retired as an investigator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Soon after, she moved to Anadarko and accepted a job working for KRPT selling ads and writing commercials. Around that time, she also served on the Kiowa Business

Committee as Treasure. Edna's faith was very important to her, and she loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of J.J. Methvin Memorial United Methodist Church and joyfully served her church in any capacity. She especially shared that she loved giving the message, as one of the church's lay speakers. Her church family was very special to her, and she enjoyed her time with them in worship and in service. One of the things that made her so special is that she had a heart for helping others. Her home was always open to those who needed a place to stay or live. Upon helping her organize her house, she shared that the number of shoes and clothing she gathered was in hopes of opening a clothing closet. She didn't want anyone to go without. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Whether going to the park, out to eat, playing games or having simple conversation, that time was very precious to her. She had a special bond with Glaycen, her first great grandson, in which she helped raise. He was on her mind, in her heart and the light of her life. She also enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their school events. She always did her best to show up at ballgames, band concerts and all school programs. Of course, if you knew her, she was ALWAYS running late and would come close to missing it all, but

she was always there.
