On May 13, 1944, Frank and Anna Mae Hicks gave birth to a handsome son Eddie Dobbin Hicks in Hobart, Oklahoma. Over the years and still today many refer to him as Eddie D. As a child, he was very talented in baseball and loved the sport. He played often. At an early age, he began his working career at The Compress in Hobart.
Eddie D. later moved to Oklahoma City where he met his wife Janice of 22 years. Eddie D. worked at Dayton Tire for many years until he retired. In his retirement years, he loved to fix up old cars, walking the neighborhood track, and being with family and friends. He was a mentor to many. His advice was his truth, whether it was favorable or not to the person hearing it. He loved fashion and was always dressed for success.
He was a believer in God and attended Highway of Holiness Full Gospel Church in Oklahoma City. He was a faithful member and a true servant. He believed in helping others and feeding those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Anna Mae Hicks; sisters Norma Davis and Wanda Jean Ganaway; son Kelly Elix.
He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife, Janice Hicks; Sons: Orland (Trish) and Rick
Youngblood; Daughter: Tammy Wells; Brothers: Frank Hicks Jr., Jimmy Hicks, and Neal Hicks. Sister: Charlene Baker. A host of in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
