Earl Blalock, 88, of Mountain View, OK passed away Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK. He was born October 13th, 1922 to Edgar and Ila (Moore) Blalock in Hastings, OK. He was baptised at an early age. Earl married Jewell Hensley April 23rd, 1942 in Mountain View, OK. He joined the United States Army January 6th, 1943 and was honorably discharged January 15th, 1946. While in the United States Army, Earl was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action at Noemfoor Island, Dutch New Guinea, July 2nd.1944. Earl was a farmer and also did some carpentry work as well. He lived all his life in the Mountain View area. One of Earl's hobbies that he enjoyed was coyote hunting with the trail hounds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jewell Blalock, two brothers, Jiggs and Clifford Blalock, two sisters, Dorothy Metcalf and Ila Ruth Sears.
Services: 11:00a.m., Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Mountain View, OK
Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View, OK
