Earl Wayne Belase

October 13, 1935 — February 29, 2024

Earl Wayne Belase was born to Tommy Lee (Doc or T.L.) Belase and Ruby Mae Brown
on October 13 th , 1935 in Oney Oklahoma. He passed on February 29th, 2024 at the
Carnegie Hospital in Carnegie OK at the age of 88. He attended school in Alfalfa and
Carnegie Schools. He graduated from Carnegie High School in 1952. He also attended
Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University studying
Industrial Arts. He lacked 6 hours of student teaching having his degree. Earl married
Nita Hutchinson on July 13,1966. She passed away May 9,2012.
Earl has worked for many companies in his career. All the companies that he worked for were in the defense related industry. One reason he didn't finish his student teaching is because he started his first job with a company called Chicago Land and Air during his last year of college. He started as an aircraft sheet and metal craftsman. Over the years he also worked for Lockheed Martin, McDonnell Douglas, Vought, General Dynamics and LVT. LVT was the last company he worked for and the longest where he was assigned to a special project developing the LOSAT system. LOSAT is an acronym
meaning Line-of-Sight Antitank Missile system. He received many awards and
acknowledgments for his innovative ideas and outstanding craftsmanship. His work
literally took him all over the world including Europe, Goose Bay, Labrador and many
places in the US.
After Earl retired, he and Nita moved to the Carlsbad NM area to be close to Nita's son
Johnny Hutchinson. After Nita passed Earl moved back to Oklahoma in 2017 to be close
to family and friends.
Earl was a man of faith in Christ and was a member of the Baptist Church. He loved to
use his creative mind and talents to "fix" things. It didn't matter what it was, he could
work on it and most of the time it would work. At the center of him was love, grace,
forgiveness, and acceptance.
He is survived by Jane Robins of the home. His nephew Adrian Cole and wife Beverly of Edmond OK. His nephew Tom Belase of Elgin OK. His nephew Michael Belase of Ohio. His stepson Johnnie Hutchinson and wife Delores of Carlsbad NM. His step-
granddaughters Tricia Marlow of Stockton, Ca. Rheganne Vaughn of Grants, N.M. and
Mica McDonald of Round Rock, Tx and a host of nieces and nephews and other family
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents TL "Doc" and Ruby Belase, his sister Carolyn
Belase Cole Pound, his brother Paul and Earl's first wife Nita.
