Doyle Leonard McCarty, 70, of Verden, was born February 2, 1944, in Anadarko, to Leonard and Lois (Prather) McCarty. He passed from this life on December 7, 2014, in El Reno.
Doyle was raised north of Verden and attended Verden Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1963. He worked on the family farm and for others in the community. In 1994 Doyle started LC Farming and delivered horse trailers for several manufacturers.
He loved hunting, raising cattle and visiting with people (he never met a stranger). Doyle was a good father and grandfather.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry McCarty.
Survivors include his companion, Jeannie Phelps of Verden; two daughters, Angela McCarty of Moore and Sheila Barron and her husband Eugene of Chickasha; one son, Gerald McCarty of Texas; five grandchildren, Devin Mabry, Nicole Barron, Brandon Barron, Tyler McCarty and Katrina Marchbanks all of Chickasha and Regina McCarty of Anadarko; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends
A Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com .
