Douglas Norman Pemberton, age 75, passed away Tuesday January 31,2024 at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He was the husband of Anne Watkins-Pemberton of Anadarko, OK. They shared 35 years of marriage together. Doug was an active member and a faithful servant of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Bishopric for many years. Born in Flint, Michigan on Tuesday January 11, 1949, to Norman J. Pemberton and Anna Lou Williams. He attended school and graduated from High School in Big Piney, Wy. Doug received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. Later earned a Master's Degree from Arizona State University, he moved to Oklahoma and attained a Master's Degree at the University Of Oklahoma and his PhD from OU. Doug worked as a federal reviewer for head start for 20 years, he was also a federal grant reviewer for 10 years. The last 4 years he has been employed at Apex, Inc. working as a job coach with adults with disabilities, he loved his job and the people he worked with. Doug was a devoted OU fan and never missed a home game, he and his football buddy- Jimmie Gaunce had season passes. He followed the Anadarko Warriors football and basketball teams. Doug loved playing basketball and traveled the country playing in many Native American tournaments. He played softball and was an avid cyclist, he rode his bicycle from Tulsa to Phoenix, Az. He was a runner and ran in the first Annual Okla. Memorial Marathon and many 10K runs. He earned the name "Fastrunner" from his father in law Jim Watkins.

Pemberton, mother Anna Lou Williams-Sanders, step-father Dugan Sanders, brother Dugan Sanders, grandson Deon Taylor and great granddaughter Kaylani Finau.
