Dortha Jane Ewalt

March 11, 1922 — April 15, 2017

Dortha Jane Ewalt, 95, of Carnegie, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017 in the Carnegie Tri County Municipal Hospital. She was born to James John and Pearl Jane (Zimmerman) Smith on March 11th, 1922 south of Mountain View, Oklahoma. She graduated from Sedan High School, south of Mtn. View and attended 1 year of college at Hobart Jr. College. She married A. A. (Bud) Ewalt on Aug. 1, 1941 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Together they ran a farming operation in the Carnegie and Mt. View area. She owned and operated Ewalt Shoes for several years in Carnegie, OK. Dortha was a member of the First Christian Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma and the CWF. She had a very active life, she was a member of Carnegie Chamber of Commerce, Home Extension Club, Band Mother's Club, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cathy Keown and her husband Ron of Walters, Oklahoma. Two sons: Joe Ewalt and his wife Jane of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Jim Ewalt and his wife Mary of Carnegie, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband A.A. "Bud" Ewalt, one son, John, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017
First Christian Church, Carnegie, Oklahoma

Interment will be at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, Oklahoma.
