Dorothy B Sawyer

Dorothy Bess (Sally) Sawyer passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sally was born November 19, 1929 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Jess and Bessie Mae Peters Rodrick.

Sally married Gene Sawyer November 29, 1947 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. They were married 64 years at the time of Gene's passing in 2012.

Sally was a homemaker and a member of the Carnegie United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Carnegie Mother's Club and was past Secretary, Treasurer, and President of the Women's Auxillary of the National Soil Conservation. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

one son, Mike Sawyer and wife, Susan, Lawton, OK
one daughter, Dee Anne Nelson and her husband Joe of Edmond, Oklahoma
son-in-law, John Clayton, Edmond, OK

six grandchildren, Matt and Amy Sawyer,
Joshua and Michelle Sawyer

Diane Brown and husband Daman
David Clayton

5 great grandchildren, Bella Sawyer , Lucy Sawyer, Aiden Brown, Amaya Brown, and Slate Sawyer

Sally was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her daughter, Nancy, and her parents.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday January 3, 2016 at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home
