Dorothy Rule

August 11, 1923 — May 21, 2024

Dorothy Mae (McKelvy) Morris Rule, 100, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024. She is now in the presence of the Lord. She was born on August 11, 1923, to Henry and Mary (Oliver) McKelvy in Hobart, Oklahoma. Dorothy grew up and attended school in Hobart, graduating from Hobart High School in 1941. She married Junior Morris on November 22, 1941, and they quickly headed out to San Diego, California. After Junior's time in the Navy, they settled back in Hobart to start a family. She was a farm wife, secretary at JC Penney's and then spent many years working at the Hobart Seed Company. Senator Gilmer Capps offered her the position of Kiowa County Election Secretary which she retired from in 2002. Dorothy and Junior spent 55 wonderful years together. Dorothy later married David Rule on February 11, 1999. They enjoyed retirement together, working around the house and playing with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Grandson: Jeff Morris & wife Jana, Hobart, OK
2 Great Grandsons: Tyler Morris & wife Talor, Bartlesville, OK and Cort Morris, Hobart, OK
Great- Great Grandson: Myles Morris, Bartlesville, OK
Sister: Velva Jo Bond, Yukon, OK
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Preceded in death by her parents Henry & Mary McKelvy, 2 Husbands: Junior Morris & David Rule, son: Jimmy Morris, daughter -in- law: Lynne Morris, and siblings: Lloyd, Helen, Clemmie, Ada Jean, and Henry.

The family would like to thank all the staff and nurses at the Hobart Nursing and Rehab for their wonderful care of Dorothy.
