OBITUARY
Dorothy Mae Pierce, 65, of Anadarko, was born January 17, 1947, to Andrew and Mattie Malissia (Marchbanks) East in Binger. She passed from this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Integris-Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Dorothy grew up alongside her two brothers on the farm near Binger. After the birth of Melanie, she moved to Anadarko where Malissia was later born. In 1982, she met the love of her life, Carl Pierce, whom she married in 1983. From that time on, she was very content being a wife, mother and homemaker.

Dorothy was very proud of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed attending their ball games and other school activities. Dorothy derived great satisfaction having a garden and flowers. She also enjoyed raising sheep and chickens and loved cats and her Maltese “Precious.â€

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Jerry East and Carrol East.

Survivors include her husband, Carl of the home; two daughters, Melanie Post of Lawton and Malissia Harrison and her husband, David of Gracemont; three grandchildren, Tyler Harrison, Courtney Harrison, both of Gracemont and Mark Post of Lawton; a sister-in-law, Pat East of Anadarko; three nephews, Bill East of Anadarko, Ricky East and Wayne East, both of Hinton and one niece, Janie Larimore of Phoenix.

The Funeral is scheduled for 2 P.M., Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Alley officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery in Binger under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. Viewing will be at the funeral home until noon Tuesday with the casket closed at the service.
