Doris Mae Griffitts

Doris Mae Griffitts, 75, of Anadarko, was born December 31, 1938, in Clarkson, Nebraska to Stanley and Bessie Stepanek. She passed from this life on Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Doris moved to Oklahoma and married James Griffitts, Jr. on July 3, 1959, in Oklahoma City. They moved to their first home in Gracemont and then to Washita. They settled on the farm between Anadarko and Gracemont.
Mrs. Griffitts had many jobs throughout her life and enjoyed them all. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, her church and her church family. She was member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was very active in church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James “Jim†Griffitts, Jr., and brother-in-law Ivan Zabka.
Survivors include, one son, Sidney D. Griffitts and wife, Pam of Gracemont; one daughter, Tracey Nichols and husband, Shawn of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Lorraine Zabka of Nebraska; six grandchildren, Colby Griffitts, Chance Griffitts, Kim Griffitts, Zac Nichols, Luc Nichols and Danielle and husband, Ray; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
A rosary service will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 7 P.M. in the Steverson Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anadarko. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com .
