Doris Evetts

DORIS DEAN WEBB BLANTON EVETTS
Doris was born in Burns Flat on February 11, 1929, to James Floyd and Nola (Whittington) Webb, the youngest of nine children. She departed this life on June 28, 2023 at the age of 94. The family moved to Sentinel in 1939, where Doris graduated from Sentinel High School.
Doris married Hughie Grooms "Junior" Blanton on May 8, 1948 and lived on their farm west of Dill City for 57 years before Junior preceded Doris in death in 2005. She had two daughters, Janet Sue and Debra Kay. She enjoyed attending the girls' basketball games and then later her grandchildren as they participated in basketball, soccer, and track. Doris was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and for many years taught children's Bible classes, read her bible daily and attended area gospel meetings.
In 2007, Doris married Joe Evetts and moved to Sentinel. She gained six stepsons and several grandchildren. Joe preceded Doris in death in 2011.
Doris will be missed by her children, Janet Page of Cordell, Debra and Ron Van Vranken of Wheeler, TX., Alan and Jennifer Page of Tulsa, OK; Amy Van Vranken of Richardson, TX; Chris and Tanya Page of Andover, KS; Jenny
Estrada of Wheeler, TX; and Ty Van Vranken of Amarillo, TX.Great Grandchildren: Mitch, Gavyn, Megan, Myka, Macy, Jazmyn, Morgan, Nylah, Embrey, Jozlyn, and Marley; and Great~ Great Granddaughter Skye Renai; along with many family and friends.
Six stepsons, Donnie and DeeAnn Evetts of Sentinel; Jimmy and Virginia Evetts of Cordell; Larry and Linda Evetts of Hobart; Tony and Connie Evetts of Sentinel; Jackie Evetts and Ricky Evetts both of Sentinel; and their families.
Doris was also preceded in death by her parents James Floyd and Nola Webb; brothers and sisters: Walter Webb, Nannie Mae Haws, Ethel Webb, Cleston Webb, Chester Webb, Marie Farris, Geneva McGhee, and J.F. Webb, and a son-in-law, Dick Page. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' memory may be made to In Search of the Lord's Way, PO Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083.
