Dora E. Carter, 72, of Anadarko was born March 7, 1940, to Virgil Lee and Clara (Hartman) Mason near Binger. She passed from this life on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Physician's Hospital in Anadarko.
Dora was raised near Binger and graduated from Binger High School in 1958. She married Benny Ray Carter on May 29, 1958, in Rush Springs. They made their home in Anadarko where she began her employment with Younghiem's. Later, Dora went to work for the First State Bank until her retirement after 32 years. She continued to be active working at the Anadarko Community Sale.
Dora enjoyed baking, canning and working in her flower beds. She was known to process many deer as brought in by her husband and granddaughter, Katryna, who was the apple of her eye.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Leon Mason and one sister, Rozella Warden.
Survivors include her husband, Benny of the home; one daughter, Myrna Mayall and her husband, Donnie; one granddaughter, Katryna Mayall all of Anadarko; one sister, Lida Lee Hayes of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Viewing will be from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., Monday, 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Tuesday and from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. Wednesday.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Allred officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at
