Donald Milam Jones, 75, Mountain View, Oklahoma, died at his home, Friday, September 17, 2010. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma September 28, 1934 to Marion Newton and Martha Pauline (Morris) Jones. Donald graduated from Cowden School, 1954 and has farmed all of his working years and worked many years at the Cowden Gin.
Milam Jones, Donald's grandfather, brought his family to Oklahoma in 1899 and lived first near Mountain View and Carnegie, Oklahoma before buying his farm near Cowden, Oklahoma where Donald was raised.
Donald lived at Cowden until moving to Mountain View. He accepted Christ in 2008.
Donald never married but helped rear his nephew Richard Alan Jones, Jr.
Survivors include: Brother: Richard Alan Jones, Sr, Carnegie, OK and a nephew, Richard Alan Jones, Jr. and his family, Oklahoma City, OK and a host of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marion Paul Jones and Ernest Eugene Jones and a sister-in-law, Cynthia Anne Jones.
Grave side services for Donald Jones will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday morning at the Sappington Chapel Cemetery, Cowden, Oklahoma with burial to follow under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Mountain View, OK.
