Donald Gene Blackwolf, 86, passed away at home surrounded by his family in Anadarko, OK. He was born at Clinton, OK on March 9, 1937 to John Joe and Katherine (Parrish) Blackwolf.
Donald attended the Concho Boarding school and graduated from El Reno High school. He joined the Air Force in Oct 14, 1956 and was honorably discharged on Oct 15, 1962. During his service, he received the Good Conduct Medal. Don worked at Tinker Air Force base and eventually returned to Concho boarding school, where he worked as an educational aid and matron of the boy's dorm. Don coached football, baseball and basketball, and he was a well-respected mentor to our native youth at Concho, whom many stayed in contact with Don, until his death.
Don was blessed with a house full of children, Karen, Vida, Betty, Donald, twins; Daniel & Danielle, twins; Kerrie &Kellie, Dex, Kelly, Henry, Queena, Junior, Tim, Jackie and Sheri. Donald loved his family and being part of the family functions especially if it was sports related he was there.
Don was an avid OU football fan and he was a season ticket holder for all the OU home games, in Norman. He loved playing and watching football, basketball, softball, golf. His greatest love was fast pitch softball which at the age of 44, the Daily Oklahoman newspaper featured him in an article, as still having the ability to fast pitch at the speed that he was doing in his younger years. He was also inducted into the OKLAHOMA softball hall of fame.
Don held many fast pitch softball tournaments at Joe Riley softball field in El Reno, Ok and many basketball tournaments at Concho gym. He also, participated in many softball & basketball tournaments nation-wide, where he won many awards & championships.
He was a proud member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho tribes and was also Caddo & Sioux.
He was preceded in death by his: wife, Marion; Parents John and Katherine (Parrish) Blackwolf, brother, Joe Arlen Blackwolf, Son, Junior Hart, granddaughters; Jessica Birdshead , Deven Renee Blackwolf-Johnson; grandsons, Parrish Tanner Blackwolf Shannon Blackwolf
