Della J. Stuart

February 19, 1952 — December 9, 2022

Della was born February 19th, 1952 to Pruett Clifford Stuart and Vada Marie Merriman, in McAlester Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 9th, 2022. While she was in middle school, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Della graduated High School there and married soon after. Of this union, Della had two daughters Marce and Rachel. Eventually Della and her daughter's made their way back to Oklahoma, first spending time in Ralston and then moving to and settling down in Cordell.
Della had a variety of jobs throughout her life, but will be forever remembered for the job she loved most, being an LPN. She gave a lot of love to her patients and her co-workers and still managed to give equally to her family.
Della wore a coat of many colors. She enjoyed fishing with her family, reading, playing bingo, shopping, going out to eat and trying strange foods. She also enjoyed watching old black and white TV shows as well as anything Star Wars and Star Trek. Her favorite game show was Jeopardy and she could give the correct answer almost every time. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she would find "Angel Trees", pull any remaining names and make sure those in need had something on Christmas morning.
When you asked her though, what was most important to her, she didn't hesitate to say "her daughters". That was until the grandkids came along. Della had four grandsons and she could tell you their whole life's stories. When asked about memorable moments, she didn't hesitate to say "having your, first born, great grandchild born on your birthday is pretty memorable."
Della is preceded in death by her parents, Pruett Clifford Stuart and Vada Marie Pearson as well as a brother John Coleman.
She is survived by brother James Stuart and his children, Angela, Adrian, Andrea, Amanda and Andrew and their families. Oldest daughter Marce Dorsett, husband Mike Dorsett and children Danny Merkey, Justin Merkey and Chase Merkey as well as great grandchildren, Kadence Merkey, Klaire Merkey, Karder Merkey and Asher Lee. Youngest daughter Rachel Peek, husband Leon Peek and their son Chevy Peek. She is also survived by her brother John's family, David, Jerry, Michael and Stephanie. As well as many great nieces and nephews.
